One
of the surprising things to have come up over the years for The
Four Sockeye is the request of commissioned, or one of kind and
original work. We have sold unfinished originals and finished
originals. But what we weren't familiar with was the request
for work not associated with the limited edition prints we produce.
We
have done some work for folks who have provided us with fish they
have caught and we have done the painting, pressing of the fish,
and the finish work. It has been fun and rewarding to provide
the finished piece for these folks. BUT, there is one important
issue we must address before we proceed with commissioned work
- the subject - the fish!
All
of the prints that we have done involve a dead fish that must
be painted and pressed onto the paper. The exception to
that rule was our print of the sturgeon. We actually had
to use a live fish for that print! There were a few factors
that lead to the completion of that print - you can't keep sturgeon
in Idaho, their body shape and skin make-up, don't allow for a
good print quality and the body size was not conducive to a decent
size print that the public could afford (yes, we do worry about
prices!). And truth be known, some fish just will not work
with our process - we'll let you know if we can work with your
fish! So, the only way for us to get your fish…is…to
have you send it to us - FROZEN!! And, please send a good
photo of the fish if at all possible!
If
you desire a one of a kind print (and we will be happy to do it!)
we ask that you contact us first with your fish and print information
before we do the print. We will have to make some plans
for the shipping of the fish and just what you want done. There
is another option that we have entertained and it worked out very
well and the buyer gets artistically involved! You can print
the fish (yes, you can do it) using your own colors and paper
and then send the print to us to complete! This option is
less expensive and you do the initial work!! We will help all
we can!
Prices
for commissioned work are listed below:
Fish
from 12 inches to 36 inches are $350.00
Fish from 37 inches to 60 inches are $450.00
If
you do the fish printing and we do the finish work, take $50.00
off of each price.
We
also do personalized remarques on our prints as well. Many
of our customers have remarques on their AP (artist proofs) prints-which
is included-but many folks have customizes original artwork done
to their prints! Check out some of the images we have included
on some of our repeat customer's prints! Fishing scenes,
fish portraits, landscapes, images of Grandpa taking the grandkids
fishing in the Sawtooths, or a cartoon hand throwing fish guts
at a certain State Official!! We will do just about anything,
and have, as long as it is tasteful! You won't be disappointed!
Original remarques start at an additional $15.00 and increase
with size and difficulty!

if $15.00 an inch for mounted fish replicas won't work
